The following night, the second edition of Talk20:Athens, was equally successful. We had a packed house at ATHICA. (almost 100 in attendance, a significant increase from last time), and ten wonderful presentations from some real characters. If you were in the audience, thank you very much for coming- I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
An additional bonus, our distinguished visiting artist for the week, Mr. Mark Dion, flew in that afternoon, and my thoughtful and wonderful Art History professor (who shall remain nameless for posterity) was kind enough to entertain him that evening by bringing him to Talk20. Having no idea he was in the audience, I was unable to adequately prepare with pencils in my pockets, but he didn't seem to mind, and told me later over supper that he had a great time.
What does a young artist do after a weekend such as this?
He takes his laptop to a coffeehouse in Athens, and begins research for a paper, plans his next performance based-project, makes copper plates all day, and does not sit down.
Onward, into the mist!
